Seeking For The Life Full Of Real Meaning

Wedding ceremony is an important part of the life ceremony, and it had always been called the fundamental one because most of us must go through it in our life times. For our Chinese people, wedding ceremony is not just important for the newlyweds, but more important for their family and also the society. Wedding is more than just a ritual but full of social and ethical meanings. To hold a wedding ceremony is a passage to acquire the general acknowledgement of the society, and it is also a proclamation of a legal marriage. Through the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds should learn the responsibilities they bare for each other and also for their own family. So even if the wedding ceremony always been regarded as celebration, it means originally to create a sacred space, which is separated from the outside world and can convey the divine ethical spirits of marriage. However, the wedding ceremony in our country at present is dominated by various wedding service agencies, in this way the logic of culture is not in charge, the holy serious significances of the wedding ceremony are dispelled in the process of commercial, vulgar and public entertainment. Why we need a wedding ceremony? This question becomes harder and harder to be answered.Based on this confusion, my paper chooses the wedding ceremony of Han nationality in Urumqi of Xin Jiang province to be my research object, and to make a comparison about the differences of the wedding ceremony before and after the professional wedding service agencies appear. In this way, I intend to point out the relationship between the mass culture and the wedding ceremony planned by the wedding service agencies. Nowadays, the wedding ceremony is a feast for eyes and ears, but the ritual and ethical significances of the wedding are weakened. This phenomenon needs to be noticed and rethink, on the basis of which, we should go back to the true meaning of the wedding ceremony and search for significance of our own life.The introduction of this paper includes the writing purpose, research status, research method, innovations and deficiencies; Chapter one and two introduce the comparison of the differences of the wedding ceremony before and after the professional wedding service agencies appear; Chapter three discusses that the mass culture uses its consumptive thought, technological logic and business model to remold the wedding ceremony and brings the illusion of symbols; Chapter four compares the differences of the wedding ceremony in Chinese tradition and in Western tradition, to make a further explanation that the ritual and ethical significances of the wedding are weakened. The last part of this paper appeals to pay attention to the subjective of human,and we should rethink the "thus-ness" of our lives and search for the world full of real meaning.
