Educational neuroscience is an emerging inter-disciplinary scientific field which integrates biological science, cognitive science and developmental cognitive neuroscience, aiming at laying a solid scientific foundation for educational theory research, educational practice and educational policy-making. For the latest ten years, more than ten neuroeducational works including translated ones have been published in China, however practice-based translation research in educational neuroscience is rather limited. This thesis mainly intends to attract more attention to this emerging inter-disciplinary scientific field especially people who have related backgrounds in order to promote the development of educational neuroscience. The current research aims at working out the solutions to the problems which may occur in the process of translating educational neuroscience texts characterized by inter-disciplinary features with the help of the existing terms and the adaptation theory. The adaptation theory considers the use of language as a dynamic process which involves language, culture, society and cognition. When rendering educational neuroscience texts, a full application of adaptation theory will contribute to a better adaptation of text features and demands of target readers by employing effective translation strategies. The rigorousness and readability of the target text can also be benefited from the adaptation theory, which conforms to the three properties of language, namely variability, negotiability and adaptability.
