The regional differences of Shanxi rural markets periodically in Qing Dynasty is a comprehensive reflection of natural environment and commodity economy, transportation, population, social custom and other social factors within a specific area. Shanxi rural markets periodically between different regions in Qing Dynasty had obvious differences, which performed at economy. From the all Qing Dynasty, the quantity, opening days,tertian days, three sets of ten-day,two sets of ten-day and other types in rural markets of Guangxu Dynasty had rapid growth compared with Qianlong Dynasty. In terms of region, the four regions of Jinnan, Jinbei, Jindongnan, Jinzhong in the number of markets, opening frequency, distribution density showed obvious differences. As the average number of markets, opening frequency and the density of markets, Jindongnan was the first, then followed by Jinnan, Jinzhong and Jinbei. The regional differences of rural markets periodically was the result of various factors, which included geography environment, cultivated land,crop production, population density, transportation, commodity economy, social custom, modernization and reflected the regional unbalance of Shanxi. It included the unbalance of regional economics, the movement of population and the change of social custom, which provided significant meaning for regional development in future Shanxi.
