In the long river of the history of the Communist Party of China and the Modern History of China, Yuan Zhen-ying was hard to pinpoint, but he is a meaty theme for study. Yuan’s earlier thinking and practice mainly embodies politic, education and women emancipation. Especially in political thought and practice, he always engages in the spread of Marxism, makes great efforts in the founding of CPC. On the basis of the predecessor’s study, this article combs Yuan’s earlier thinking and practice systematically.Chapter one: Introduction. This chapter consists chiefly of research cause, current situation, keystone, difficulty and approach. This article puts emphasis on Yuan’s writing, combs his earlier thinking and practice systematically.Chapter two: Personality. Yuan is exceptionally gifted and upholds fairness without favoring anyone. His past experience and character trait are the direct causes for him to take the revolutionary road, devotes himself to the cause of education, and struggles for women emancipation.Chapter three talks about research on Yuan’s earlier political thought and practice. Four idealistic periods through his life: anarchist in a nascent condition, then throws himself into May Fourth Movement. Afterwards, he becomes communist pioneer. Finally, he strives for liberty. The change is diversified and complicated, combines Anarchism with Marxism, demonstrates binary attribute. His thought consists with political practices, and he plays a vanguard role not only in the May Fourth Movement, but also for communism.Chapter four talks about research on Yuan’s earlier educational thought and practice. He devotes his life to impart knowledge and cultivate individuals, and dares to innovate to be the first in many respects. He puts gender equality into practice, and recommends educational situation under Soviet’s Regime. Additionally, he is fiercely opposed to power of western religion interfere with educational undertakings in China. At the same time, he presents “The Children’s Public Education”. Those thinking have limitations, but they open up a new trend of thought.Chapter five talks about research on Yuan’s thought of women emancipation and practice. His thought is unique and unprecedented. He stands for women’s independence and gender equality, also advocates love without marriage, opposes marriage without love. In order to achieve the freedom of mind and spirit, he encourages women to break the bondage of marriage and family. The thought struck deep into the sensitive mind of the women, and until now some of his points are also fashionable. Although parts of thinking are divorced from reality, they are also referential at that time.In brief, researches on his early thought and practice lead us to better understand him, an obscure figure but were play a great role in history. Thus serve well for us to further expand the early history of the Communist Party of China and the Modern History of China.
