Research On The Boy Scouts Of Anhui Province During The Period Of The Republic Of China

Throughout the history of the Republic of China, the frequency of the word "boy scouts" was not low. The introduction and report of the boy scouts existed in many newspapers and magazines in the Republic of China. The relative reports were abundant in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Beijing, Wuhan and other developed areas. The academic study of the boy scouts was also focus on the above well-developed areas today. Anhui located in the middle of China, due to the undeveloped economy and other factors, "the boy scouts career in Anhui never reached the developed level", and the relative study and reports were also rare. In the study of the history of the Republic of China in Anhui, due to the dispersion and lack of historical materials, there is no special research achievement about the boy scouts of Anhui. Therefore, it could be said that the boy scouts is a strange and fresh subject in the study of the history of the Republic of China in Anhui.During the period of the Republic of China, the boy scout movement in Anhui stemed from the tide of the world’s boy scout movement, and especially with the positive advocation and promotion of the Chinese people of insight, the boy scouts movemen in Anhui and the whole nation successively launched. In March 1919, the first boy scout in Anhui established in the first model of Anhui Provincial Higher National Pimary School. Subsequently, the boy scouts of Anhui grew slowly and difficultly. During the period of Nanking National Government, it brought about a serious of "party" color by the government’s excessive intervention and strong control at the same time, to a certain extent, which promoted the development of the boy scouts of Anhui.The local organizations of the boy scouts in Anhui had experienced a process from scratch and from imperfect to relatively perfect. There were three organizations, such as the Training Department of the Provincial Party Arrangement Committee, the General Council of the Anhui Scouts, the County Council of the Anhui Scouts and the Branche Council of the Anhui Scouts, which played different roles in the different stages of the history of the boy scouts of Anhui. The organizations of squad, squadron and mission were the foundation of boy scouts in Anhui, and all the activities of the boy scouts could not be separated from the mutual coordination and cooperation of the three organizations. In addition, the badges, uniforms, flags, registration and funding of the boy scouts in Anhui also showed the organization and management in different aspects.The educators focused on the training of boy scouts in Anhui, and actively cultivated the faculty of the boy scouts. They actively organized and leaded the scouts to participate in various activities such as outdoor activities, social services and foreign exchanges, which promoted the development of the boy scouts’s education. It was worth mentioning that the boy scouts movement in Anhui had made great achievements, due to the persistence and endeavor of the boy scouts and the scouts’s educators, and also wasn’t inferior in the whole country, which was worth writting in the history of Anhui.
