The Art Of Guzheng Embodied In Bantou-qu Of Nan Yang City

Zheng, or zither, a Chinese traditional musical string instrument,has a unique phonological system, shows strong expressive force and is the fusion of profound cultural connotation and a long history of more than 2000 years. The vitality of this ancient musical instrument cannot go without the nourishment of traditional culture, of which Bantou-qu of Nan yang city is an important part enabling the prosperous development of Zheng. The title of this thesis is The Art of Guzheng Embodied in Bantou-qu of Nan yang City, as in this paper, the author explores the roles Bantou-qu has played in the formation, inheritance and development of Henan School of Zheng.Chapter I introduces the history and musical features of Bantou-qu. It also presents the overview of the influence of music Qupai in Dadiao Tune on the development of Bantou-qu.Chapter II discusses the important role Bantou-qu has played in the formation of Henan School of Zheng and expounds on the association of them in such areas as phonology, technique skills and music compositions.Chapter III discusses the unique style and performance skills of Henan School of Zheng formed after it inherited the essences of Bantou-qu. All of the representatives of Henan School of Zheng are excellent performers of Bantou-qu. They have contributed a lot to the formation of Henan School of Zheng, making it an influential school of Guzheng.
