Research On Cho-yun Hsu’s Historical Thoughts

Cho-yun hsu is one of the contemporary Chinese historians who have a great reputation in the world. His historical research involves Chinese and Western, has a unique historical thoughts.This paper tries to discuss Cho-yun hsu’s historical thoughts from four aspects: the first chapter introduces Cho-yun hsu’s life history and historical thoughts origin. Combed the life experience of Cho-yun hsu which is more than eighty years,then take a brief introduction of academic process, and summed up as four stages, In order to analyze the influence of Cho-yun hsu’s life experience and academic background on the formation of his historical thoughts. Then discusses the Cho-yun hsu’s idea of the historiography of the main disciple, and the academic research is the ideological source of inspiration. The second chapter is Cho-yun hsu’s achievement in historiography and historical thoughts, which is the focus of this paper. Include of Cho-yun hsu’s historical thoughts about social history, cultural history, foreign relations, culture comparison between China and Western, Archaeology, which have five parts to explore. Through the induction of the Cho-yun hsu’s historical achievements, to further understand the main content of the historical thoughts. The third chapter is the comparison of historical thoughts between Cho-yun hsu and Ying-shih yu. Through the comparison with the contemporary historian Ying-shih yu’s idea of the historiography, sort out their similarities and differences, in order to grasp the unique of Cho-yun hsu’s historical thoughts. The fourth chapter is the evaluation of Cho-yun hsu’s historical thoughts. Through the analysis of Cho-yun hsu’s achievements and contributions in the field of historical research, to have a preliminary determination of Cho-yun hsu on contemporary history of academic status.This paper tries to sort out the history of Cho-yun hsu’s governance from the perspective of holistic research, By comparison, the combination of history and logic and other methods to research the academic thoughts of Cho-yun hsu, using Empirical and comparative methods to study Cho Yun Hsu’s historical achievements, and strive to have an overall reflection and review on Cho-yun hsu’s historical thoughts.
