Children with spastic cerebral palsy have high incidence of speech disorder, which includes respiratory, phonation, resonance, articulation and phonetic disorders. Respiratory disorder is common among them. Breathing is the power source of the speech production, therefore, breathing is particularly important in speech training for children with spastic cerebral palsy. On the basis of previous research about respiration of children with spastic cerebral palsy at home and abroad, this thesis compares the respiratory characteristics of normal children and children with spastic cerebral palsy, and explores the effect factors of breathing. The results show that:1. Spastic cerebral palsy children’s physical and speech respiratory function is lower than normal children, and they have problems of low vital capacity, speech respiratory support deficiencies and weak speech breath control ability.2. This thesis explores the influence factors of physical respiration and finds that the position has a significant effect on lung capacity. Ordinary children’s lung capacity under different position from big to small in turn is:standing, sitting and lying, and spastic cerebral palsy children’s lung capacity under different position from big to small in turn is:sitting, standing and lying.3. This thesis explores the influence factors of speech breathing and finds that the factors of age, the way of inspiration, test task and phonation form will affect children’s speech breathing. First of all, probably after 11 years old, the ordinary children’s most speech respiratory parameters can be improved greatly, which shows that the speech respiratory support and control abilities are strengthened. However, the impact of age for children with spastic cerebral palsy is not big. Secondly, the way of deep inhale can improve the breathing control ability during persistent and intermittent phonation. Thirdly, for ordinary children, the syllable numbers under the three testing tasks of speaking intermittent /a/, reading a poem and counting have extremely significant differences (P<0.01) between each other, while for children with spastic cerebral palsy, the syllable number of speaking /a/ is significantly lower than reading the poem and counting (P< 0.05), but counting and reading the poem has no significant difference between each other(P>0.05). Finally, the phonation duration of speaking intermittent /a/ has significant difference with persistent /a/.So the conclusion is that spastic cerebral palsy children’s physical and speech respiratory function is lower than normal children, and spastic cerebral palsy children’s lung capacity is highest while sitting. Besides, the impact of age for children with spastic cerebral palsy is not big and the way of deep inhale can improve the breathing control ability during persistent and intermittent phonation. Their syllable number of speaking /a/ is significantly lower than reading the poem and counting and the phonation duration of speaking intermittent /a/ has significant difference with persistent /a/.
