Objective:The aim of this study is to describe the parenting stress and mental health status of parents of children with cerebral palsy,and distinguish the influencing factors of parenting stress in general information and psychological scales,so as to provide reference for medical relevant and psychological consultancy organization in formulating parenting stress intervention programs.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted on 265 parents of children with cerebral palsy from the Disabled Rehabilitation Center of Yunnan Province and HopeTree Rehabilitation Center for Children with Cerebral Palsy of Kunming City by a random sampling method.The questionnaire included a general survey and Parenting Stress Index/Short Form,Self-rating Depression Scale and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale,Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised-Short Scale for Chinese,Social Support Rating Scale and Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire.All the data in this experiment were operated on SPSS22.0 software,mainly using statistical methods such as descriptive statisties,t-test,correlation analysis and regression analysis.Results:1.The total score of parenting stress in parents of children with cerebral palsy was 110.05 ± 18.55,40.23 ± 7.82 in the dimension of parenting stress,33.64±7.44 in the dimension of parent-child interaction disorder,and 36.18±7.45 in the dimension of difficulty.Parenting stress of parents of children with cerebral palsy is above the high level,accounting for 85%of the total number.2.There were 87 parents who reported mild depression,accounting for 32.8%,62 parents with moderate depression,accounting for 23.4%,and 10 parents with severe depression,accounting for 3.8%of the total.There were 95 people reporting mild anxiety,accounting for 35.8%of the total number,29 with moderate anxiety,10.9%,and the least number of 9 people with severe anxiety,accounting for 3.4%.3.In Children's field,Parenting stress of parents of children with cerebral palsy had significant difference in gender of children with cerebral palsy(P<0.05);there was no significant difference in age,family ranking,type of cerebral palsy,time of diagnosis and treatment of cerebral palsy of children with cerebral palsy(P>0.05).4.The parenting stress of parents with cerebral palsy was significantly different in terms of parents' age,month family income,family type,family atmosphere and social discrimination(P<0.05);There is no significant difference in gender,cultural degree,religion,current residence,number of children,employment status,marital status,payment method of medical expenses,whether there are other caregivers and whether or not accepted their child's disease(P>0.05).5.Self-rating Depression Scale,Self-rating Anxiety Scale,Neuroticism Scale in Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and Negative Coping Scale were positively correlated with parenting stress and its dimensions in parents of children with cerebral palsy;However,the Introversion-Extroversion Scale in Eysenck Personality Questionnaire,the total score of Social Support,Subjective Support and Positive Coping Scale were negatively correlated with parenting stress and its dimensions in parents of children with cerebral palsy;There was no significant correlation between parenting stress and its dimensions in Psychoticism scale,Lie scale,objective support and utilization of support.6.The basic characteristics of children with cerebral palsy,the family atmosphere,month family earning and social discrimination in the general data of their parents entered the regression equation,and the combination can explain 18%of the variation;In the psychological scale,the Neuroticism scale,anxiety level,subjective support,objective support and positive coping in the eysenck personality questionnaire simple scale entered the regression model,which could jointly explain 31%of the variation.Conclusion:1.Level of parenting stress of parents of children with cerebral palsy is generally higher than normal level,and meanwhile,about half of parents of children with cerebral palsy have depression and anxiety.2.In the general information of children with cerebral palsy and their parents,there are significant differences in parenting stress scores of parents of children with cerebral palsy in the children's gender,parental age,family monthly income,family type,family atmosphere and whether they feel that their children have been socially discriminated against because of illness.3.The parenting stress of parents of children with cerebral palsy is closely related to Self-rating Depression Scale,Self-rating Anxiety Scale,Neuroticism Scale and Introversion-Extroversion Scale in the Chinese version of the Eysenck Personality Questionnairen,Social Support and Coping Style.4.In the general information,family atmosphere,family monthly income and whether or not children feel social discrimination due to illness can well predict the level of parenting stress of parents of children with cerebral palsy.Meanwhile,In the psychological scale,the neurotic personality in the Chinese version of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire Simple Scale,anxiety level,subjective support,objective support and positive coping can also predict the level of parenting stress of parents of children with cerebral palsy.Hence,medical institutions,rehabilitation department,psychological counseling and other relevant institutions may attach importance to utilizing corresponding measures from the above points to intervene in parenting stress.
