Verb reduplication is a key point in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language, and it’s also a difficulty for Chinese learners. For now, most existing studies focus on the errors which foreign Chinese learners make when they use verb reduplication, and the studies are static,while few of them follow the conditions of how foreign Chinese learners using verb duplication correctly, not to mention dynamic ones. Thus, this paper provides an overall and dynamic research on the condition of how foreign Chinese learners’use verb duplication, including correct and incorrect conditions.This paper divides foreign Chinese learners into three levels:primary level, intermediate level and advanced level, and then uses the method that combines language material study and questionnaire study, to inspect the condition of foreign Chinese learners’ use of verb duplication from the verb duplication form, syntax, semantic and pragmatic aspects. This paper not only summarizes the conditions of foreign Chinese learners’ use of verb duplication at different levels, but also investigates their verb duplication acquisition from a dynamic perspective and finds out the learning difficult points of their studying and using verb duplication.Finally, this paper, based on the previous study, discusses internal and external factors that influence foreign Chinese learners’ use of verb duplication. And furthermore, puts forward inter-related proposals from the perspective of teachers, teaching materials and students, on "teaching" and "learning" verb duplication of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. |
