Exploration Of Landscape Painting’s Artistic Style About Ba-yu During The Anti-Japanese War

During the Anti-Japanese War, Chongqing has became the wartime capital, many artists arrived here to escape the fighting, they quickly became protagonists of literary and artistic activities in Ba-Yu area,what’s more, they discussed and exchanged views on culture and art. Influnced by the natural landscape and humanist features of Ba-Yu area, some artists created some mountains-and-waters paintings about this place, they formed their own unique drawing lightspot and painting style, which has changed the lag of the construction of local landscape painting.In this period, influenced by the idea “Ink painting should follow the times”, these artists always pursue modernism of pen and ink in two ways: “make the past serve the present” and “foreign things serve China”. From this point, the thesis’ s writer selects each two highly representative artists to be the objects of the study, making a series of comparative studies on background, artistic personality, classic theme, artistic composition, expression of pen and ink. in addition, I analyze the causes of the formation of pen and ink in landscape painting about Ba-Yu area as well as its implication for today’s landscape painting based on these four artists. These four artists I choose are Fu Baoshi, Lu Yanshao, Zong Qixiang, Li Keran. I take their artistic achievements and community acceptance into consideration.The article provides precious suggestions for the development of landscape painting by exploring landscape painting’s artistic style about Ba-Yu area during the Anti-Japanese War, which educates us should summarize successful artistic experience of predecessors while combine our own pen and ink’s characteristics and the time’s developing rules to make some innovations, which can maintain the modernity of pen and ink, release the vigour of landscape painting, show the part of its charm.
