This paper is mainly centered on four rural reform novels in early eighties,which are "The song of Jujube forest" "Life" "Concern hidden under the moon" "Peopel in the Jiwowa village".This paper is supposed to give a new understanding of rural reform novels, and even rural reforms in eighties through analyzing the images of rural educated youth and their imagination and choices of life in the novels,showing how the imagination and choices deeply involved in the process of reforms in early eighties.In turn, it provides a further understanding of how writers the rural reform in early eighties in a literary way. "sideline economy", "college entrance examination system", "commodity economy" as the starting points,it analysis in the early 1980s novel of rural reform, how the sideline economy provide a realistic foundation for educated rural youth to return home, college entrance examination system how to change the way "knowledge" impacts on rural educated youth to understand the value of life, and the commodity economy how structures the economic structure in rural areas, providing a new choice for rural educated youth with a kind of crisis.This paper is supposed to go beyond "enlightenment/enlightened," "innovative/conservative", "Modern/ Traditional", "humanitarian/political perspective" such binary oppositions model, which often appear in the existing research,to interpret the early eighties rural novels.This paper insists that the rural reform novels not only a literature "form" reflecting the reforms in eighties, but also an kind of important "content" of the reforms in eighties.
