| As one of the most important contemporary Chinese writers in the new period,Jia Pingwa enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad.His works reflect the broad social life and bear a strong brand of the times.He has a strong moral concern from the intellectuals,and he always pays attention to the Chinese countryside and the farmers because of his origin.China is in a critical period of deepening rural reform as well as an important link in poverty alleviation.Reform and opening up is an important political policy ofChina and has far-reaching influence on our country.Therefore,studying the changes of China’s rural areas and Chinese farmers at the beginning of the social transformation will help us understand the rural areas more scientifically and speed up the modernization process of our country.And Jia Pingwa’s works have distinct epochal character,profound sociality and persistent moral concern.This paper absorbs the research results of politics,economics,sociology,psychology and philosophy,and combines Jia Pingwa’s works about rural life in the 1980s with the reform environment to explore the development and changes ofChina’s countryside and Chinses famers at the beginning of the reform.The text includes the following:The first part and the introduction as well as the first chapter mainly elaborate the source,significance and present situation of the research and analyze the background and literary reality of Jia Pingwa’s writing.This is a prerequisite for Jia Pingwa to reform his writing in rural novels in the 1980 s.The second part introduces theme and narrative of reform writing.Jia Pingwa,in his works,takes the economic reform as the skeleton of the reform theme,showing the farmers’ acceptance of the household contract responsibility system and the contradictions and entanglements brought by the fission of employment concepts in the reform.His works mainly take love and marriage as the main plot to narrate and use good or bitter marriage to reflect the mode of the reform.The third part introduces the image of farmers in reform writing.Jia Pingwa shaped various images of famers in the early stage of the reform in the 1980 s,and divided them into traditional famers and modern famers in order to grasp the commonalities and better understand the reasons for famers’ different reactions to the reform as well as grasp the psychological and cultural characteristics of famers.The fourth part introduces reform the cultural thinking and writer consciousness in writing.The rural areas after the reform are struggling to be reborn.And thelimitations analysis of farmers’ spirit in the reform can help us to understand the complex cultural psychology and value of China’ rural areas and the farmers.As a write with high sense of responsibility,Jia Pingwa’s overall attitude towards reform has changed from cheers to doubts and worries,showing a strong sense of morality and cultural awareness. |
