The study of complex compound complements is a popular subject in Chinese grammar. It is also difficult to Chinese teaching. In recent years, many scholars have studied it from various perspectives, such as semantics, sentence structure and pragmatics. From the perspective of semantics, the basic meaning of compound directional complements refers to the specific displacement in position. When matched with the central word, compound complements get a different extended meaning with the influence of cognitive system. The number of the extended meaning of different compound directional complements is different. When matched with the central word, they also showed asymmetry. Such as "shanglai" and "shangqu", their basic meanings, the two words in the same direction of motion, reverse symmetry reference point. But the "shanglai" has three extended meanings, two of which mean the result, and there is a state of justice. "shanglai" only has one extended meaning. When the extended meaning match with the central word, it appeared about 1376 times in the corpus of Center for Chinese Linguistics PKU (CCL), but "shangqu" appears 9212 times. Although designating the same direction, their frequency of appearance and extended meanings are obviously asymmetric. In this paper, with reference to Contemparary Chinese Dictionary in the semantic interpretation of compound directional complements the extended meaning, combining CCL corpus retrieval system, the author will use a large number of related corpus to analyze the asymmetry phenomenon of its extended meaning when it was matched with a central word. Based on Cognitive Linguistics schema theory, theory of complex metaphors tend to complement the extended meaning of asymmetry and get on with the reasons for the emergence of on-line inquiry, hoping to find a certain method, to help solve the problem related to compound directional complements extended meaning in Chinese teaching. This article is divided into three main parts. The first part is an introduction and literature review. The main contents include the definition of the research object and scope, the significance of this study, mainly by the use of research methods and results of previous studies. The second part is the subject of this article, including Chapters 4 and 5. Chapter3 is the corpus screening and statistical analysis. Chapter Ⅳ CompoundDirectional asymmetry cognitive complement the extended meaning with analysis and recommendations based on the analysis results obtained teaching. First, teachers should face the difficulty of teaching the extended meaning of compound complements. In addition, the use of the extended meaning of cognitive linguistic theories to explain, but also to ensure that the learner cognitive schemata different cultural backgrounds the same, it can be metaphorical intent shown. It is recommended that novice teachers could consult or communicate with experienced teachers to solve difficulties they find in teaching practice..The last part of the text is the conclusion, which briefly summarizes the content of the paper. This thesie refers to, Contemparary Chinese Dictionary for semantic interpretation and its description of language is based on the reality. The interpretation of extended meaning combines the objectivity of language and the subjectivity of cognition, which increases this paper’s reference value.
