Research Of Xu Shixu’s Chinese Poems

Xu Shixu, Chinese poet, essayist, translator and scholar of South Korea, is a great master of creation and research. He was learning Chinese literature when he was young, studying in the Taiwan region in 1960s and starting with writing in Chinese, working continuing for more than forty years. As a South Korean poet understanding Chinese classical and modern literature deeply, exuberant vitality and self-conscious writing creativity makes him create a great number of Chinese poems. Xu Shixu walks road and "songs" sing all the way, his poems closely relating with his own life experience, "Ego" and "I" getting together, and always adheres to the "modern transformation of tradition" concepts of poetry writing. This thesis focus on Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems, taking the mode of close reading to study include in the source, nostalgic theme and image rhetoric art of his Chinese poems.The full text is consists of introduction, text and epilogue. The introduction part briefly summarizes Xu Shixu and his poems, prose and academic research, explains the research method of this paper and the research emphasis and innovation, and focus on carding and commenting research literatures of Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems.The text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter discusses the source of Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems, specific including poet’s family environment, studying abroad in the Taiwan region of 1960s, the mainland exchanges since the 1980s, key to explore the influence of the Taiwan region modern poems and south Korean contemporary literature to Xu Shixu’s poems’creation.The second chapter, from the ideological content-nostalgic theme study Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems. The first section using literature geography theory studies the art space constructed by Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems text, including the following parts: the direct emotional expression of foreign experience, the detailed description of foreign land scenery, scene and the missing for old country, relatives, which analysis the sentimental attaching to the home town land the poet. The second section basing on concrete text detailed study the pursuing of Chinese traditional culture of Xu Shixu in spirit. The third section mainly discusses that Xu Shixu sees "modern transformation of tradition" as the poetics core for exploration and breakthrough of modern spirit combining with modern background.The third chapter studies image rhetoric art of Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems from the aesthetic level investigation. Beyond the opposition of Chinese and western ways of thinking make art practice of Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems integrate classical and modern art. In the first quarter from the mode of "words" discusses the imagery words style of Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems combining with the relationship between image and artistic conception. In the second quarter according to the theory of narrative poem and detailed text analysis, mainly discusses imagery narration strategy of Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems from feel imagery, descriptive imagery and analytical image.Conclusion section first summarizes the nostalgic theme and image rhetoric art of Xu Shixu’s Chinese poems. Then, discusses this phenomenon of Xu Shixu as Korean poet writing in modern Chinese language, and studies the value and significance in China’s contemporary poems of Xu Shixu.
