Traditional Western philosophy and ethics classify value as areas of human activity, that is, for the value of human beings, the human body is a relationship as a yardstick. Rolston thought and natural values proposed to break the limitations of traditional thinking, the scope will be extended to the entire field of ecological ethics, see the value of having a complex diversity of nature itself, and from the perspective of coexistence of man and nature departure, the interpretation of its natural values, emphasizing the value of a fundamental nature.Rolston formed its natural values which are inseparable realistic background, in which he lived contributed to its ecological Ethics. Meanwhile, on the basis of this reality, Rolston absorb and learn from the Eastern and Western cultures thinking about ecology, and ultimately establish their own natural system of values.Rolston’s great contribution is that he based on the intrinsic value of nature and in the perspective of the natural universe, the human being attributable to common ground while nature and society, in, relationship and overall of opened up a new dimension for the ecological survival of human morality, it made it a moral obligation for natural, desirable man in harmony with nature. Firstly, he emphasized the theoretical level of human nature should be the basic attitude of the natural and bounden duty to further the introduction of this natural values practical level, applied to policy choices, business activities and personal areas of life, the environment and ethics ways everyday life combining a useful exploration. Therefore, the value of natural thought Rolston also has some practical significance.However, Rolston’s natural values facing practice dilemma, although he abandoned the traditional human-centered paradigm of subject-object dichotomy of thinking, at the same time he fall into another extreme, in him, naturally became pure body, people become objects. Negative the old thought, but the new theoretical system is not mature enough, eventually resorting to practice dilemma.
