A Study On Anaphora Of The State Council Goverment Work Report Form 2006 To 2015

Anaphora is an important means of textual cohesive. Anaphora contains three forms:zero anaphora, pronominal anaphora and NP anaphora. This paper selects the State Council Government Work Report form 2006 to 2015 as the corpus, combine the Topics Continuity Theory, the Accessibility Theory and the Hierarchy Theory to study the zero anaphora, pronominal anaphora and NP anaphora systematically, this paper focuses on the characteristics of these anaphoras and analyzed the reasons of these characteristics.Main features of the zero anaphora are:Firstly, zero anaphora whose distance is 1 is the most, but the report still have a lot of long-distance zero anaphora. Secondly, at the same level of discourse structure, there is a small number of possible interference existing in zero anaphora, and they can quickly and accurately retrieved. Thirdly, antecedent of zero anaphora are always at the subjects or objects position. Fourthly, zero anaphora and antecedents are in the same hierarchy. Fifthly, when zero anaphora antecedent is "noun+Modal verb", the modal verbs should be got back together with noun. Sixthly, affected by government report background, the form of zero anaphora whose antecedent is us contain "we", "Let us+" and "we+Modal Verb". When we get back antecedents, "Let" and "Modal verb" should be recovered together.Main features of the pronoun anaphora are:Firstly, the antecedents of the pronoun are always "we", "I" and "here". Secondly, pronouns anaphora does not existing the possible interference Thirdly, "the outside anaphora" is the most, the most antecedents of the pronominal anaphora are small clause, collectively clauses, and object. Fourthly, the pronouns anaphoric "we" used mostly, "this" followed. Fifthly, the pronouns anaphora is the leastest of the three forms, and the antecedent and anaphora are always close.Main features of the NP anaphora are:Firstly, the number of the long-distance NP anaphora is the most, and they alwys lead a long-distance NP anaphora chain. Secondly, the retrieving of NP anaphora’s antecedents does not affected by the possible interference. Thirdly, the antecedents of the NP anaphora always at the object position. Fourthly, the anaphora and antecedents of the NP anaphor are always two similar shapes Fifthly, the usage of the NP anaphora does not affected by the hierarchy, but there is a close link between anaphors and antecedents.This paper analyzed the reasons of these characteristics.
