This thesis is a simulated C-E CI report. The material selected for this interpreting simulation is the speech “The Current Situation of EAP Development in China” delivered on “the Fourth Psychologists Conference of China and Applied Psychology Summit” given by Professor Zhao Ran from Central University of Finance and Economics. The author makes simulated CI and records the interpretation practice, and then analyzes and summarizes the whole process to deliver this simulated report. The source text has three main features: the style of a combination of speech and interactions, strict logic and intensive information, and these features cause related problems during interpreting. The author puts forward possible solutions to each of the problems. The problems caused by the variation in the language styles can be solved by studying the literary forms and the application of Functional Equivalence Theory during interpreting; to improve the ability of logical expression, the author suggests practicing retelling in study and trying to be explicit in the interpretation of the Chinese text into English; loss of information is dealt with by practicing shadowing in study to enlarge short-term memory capacity and taking down proper notes in interpreting practice. It is hoped that this thesis can be a reference for other interpreters with similar interpreting materials in interpreting tasks.
