The Study Of The Xiling Seal Faction’s Development Via Classification And Indexing Formation

This paper, inspired by the general principles of comparison, classification and index and based on the existing seal classification research, tries to analyze Xiling seal cutting from six dimensions and go on to analyze the formation and development of Xiling style. The style of Xiling seal was of great significance in Chinese printing history. Ding Jing is the founder of Xiling seal. This paper will comparatively analyze the seals from the other seven people to find out the characteristics of selectively inherit and to have a clear understanding of the formation of Xiling classic style by classifying and indexing Ding Jing’s seals.This paper consists of five chapters. The introduction part introduces this topic research origin, research status, research focus and research methods; the second chapter discusses the classification and index of seal cutting based on the principles of comparison, classification and index; the third chapter introduces Ding Jing and analyzes his seal cutting method from six dimensions; the forth chapter introduces the formation and development of Xiling Yinshe through the comparatively analysis about the other seven people from Xiling Yinshe, and finally the writer’ s view is put forward; the fifth chapter introduce the writer’s understanding and exploration of Xiling style.
