Chinese Education In Kenya:the Current Situation And Development Proposals

In the last decade, there has been a wave of the "Chinese fever" which has resulted in the rapid growth and development of the Chinese language in Kenya. With the assistance of the International Chinese Language Council, the promotion of Chinese language in Africa and Kenya has begun to move towards a stage of rapid development. However, despite the developments, Chinese education in Kenya is still faced with a lot of problems. The existing problems can be classified into two:Problems that exist in the government and education department and Chinese teachers’own personal problems.In order to solve the above problems and improve Chinese education in Kenya, the government and education department should implement a task force to deliberately promote Chinese language education in Kenya. In addition, Kenyan Chinese teachers should consciously improve their Chinese teaching skills and competence.
