This article is the traditional Chinese literati thinking and the combination of traditional western art, to analyze the development of Chinese contemporary oil painting in China and its growth path. Oil painting is a unique symbol of western culture, since the date of oil produced, with its abundant oil painting art language and the world produced far-reaching influence in the west. Freehand brushwork spirit is a kind of spirit of Chinese traditional art. Freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting is the essence of combining Chinese and western art, the discovery of constantly discover and explore. Western painting is bearing the weight of the concept of rational, scientific and humanistic, constantly in the process of transmission and other various cultural context, knowledge structure, interest level, collision and fusion, the richer the appearance of oil painting art. Since the 20 th century, Chinese artists began to explore integration of Chinese and western. A route is a delegate with xu beihong of Chinese art with western realism spirit change improvement path, a path is a delegate with Lin Fengmian western modernism painting form and to combine the Chinese ink painting. Both the common starting point of the route is based on how, on the technique of painting language and make them combined with Oriental aesthetic personality, in order to realize the long-term development of the Chinese painting art. This article tries from the freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting color language study as the breakthrough point, contact the example analysis of contemporary Chinese freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting creation practice, in order to explore the freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting color language rich expressive and profound connotation of the right color style and value orientation.The thesis mainly consists of five parts. Concepts of the first part is introduction, in this paper. Freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting, and write with the definition of the concept of the relationship. The second part is the development of freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting color in the color characteristics and color of the form analysis. The third part is to analyzes the representative painters in contemporary China, affirmed the Chinese painter in the pursuit of achievements of oil painting nationalization and localization. The fourth part is prospected freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting in the prospects for development.
