Royal diplomacy of Japan, also known as foreign communication, refers to the emperor of Japan as the main body of members of the royal family, granted by the government funds and other facilities, mainly through visit, negotiate, negotiate, diplomatic documents issued, conclude a treaty, to participate in international conferences and international organization external activities.In early postwar period, to return to the international stage, under the premise of sticking to the U.S.-Japan alliance, Japan strengthens diplomacy with Europe, especially economic diplomacy, aiming to repair relationship between Japan and Europe, by making full use of Japan Imperial and royal diplomacy.This paper, taking Japanese imperial diplomacy as the breakthrough point, systematically analyzes the behavior and function of the Japanese royal family from 1952 to 1972, and the restoration and development of the Japanese government to the European relations.The first part of the thesis, from the angles of domestic and international environment of Japan’s carrying out of European royal diplomacy and Japan strategic intentions, analyzes the cause for Japanese royal diplomacy to European counterpart. Japan’s carrying out of royal diplomacy to European counterpart is in line with the situation of Japan at that time, is the most important means to further ease relationship between Japan and Europe, based on Japanese need the strategic choice with Europe.The second part, through Japan’s diplomacy with European royal family, interaction between bilateral relations, as well as evaluation of international community, comprehensively introduces the implementation process of Japan’s royal diplomacy in Europe, aiming to show that Japanese royal diplomacy and implementation of Japan’s policy towards Europe plays a complementary role. The paper further lists examples of the Japanese government’s relationship with Europe in this period, as well as the indirect influence of Japanese royal diplomacy, symbolizing Japanese Imperial System, towards the Japanese political development pattern after war. The third part mainly analyzes the role of Japan’s royal diplomacy and its impact on the European royal family, and then concludes that the Japanese royal diplomacy has an important influence on the historical development of the Japanese emperor and the royal family as well as the comprehensive role of politics, economy and culture in postwar Japan.Historical facts proved that after the war, Japan launched royal diplomacy to Europe is the need for the Japanese royal family, also the need for the Japanese government. Royal diplomacy is vanguard to ease relationship between Japanese and Europe, the spokesman of Japanese government, specifying Mikado’s right decision, which removes obstacles for Japan’s smooth visit to Europe after war, moderates relationship between Japan and Europe.
