Korean Theory About "WenQi"

"Qi" is a pretty important part of Chinese culture. The traditional theory of "WenQi" which is provided by philosophy of "Qi" with cultural soil on breeding and growth is an important part in the system of Chinese ancient literary theory system. Everything in the world is depended on the "Qi" which is the primordial substance, including human beings,both body and spirit are filled with natural and flexible "Qi". Since Cao Pi has proposed the comment of "WenQi", following the change of cognition and requirements of literary creation and aesthetics, the "Qi" has transformed from the main status into a secondary status. However the"Qi" is always the source of literary creation and essence of life. In this paper, I will take the Chinese "WenQi" theory as reference, and mainly discuss three perspectives of Korean "WenQi" theory,which are the theory valuing "Qi" or" Yi", theory about "Scene", theory about "ShenQi. After clarifying the development track and conditions of Chinese "WenQi, which it how to impact Korean "WenQi" theory will be expounded, either.In order to draw the detailed outline of the kinds of the perspectives of the theory, the critical methods of atomized criticism and impressionistic criticism will be adopted.Korean scholar has adopted Chinese theory of "the article is dominated by Qi" and of "the article is dominated by Yi, assisted by "Qi". Li Kuibao put forward "Yi is dominated by "Qi ", emphasizing the "Qi" was born, analyzing it with the writer’s temperament. And attach importance to ideology in the poetry. Cui Zi considered "Qi" including the style of the poetry and the writer’s individuality. So he raised "the article is dominated by "Qi" and especially pay great attention to individual’s unique style. When Neo-Confucianism was introduced and spread in Korea, Korean scholar has chased the "Scene" of the sage. Xu Juzheng described the "Scene" through the mental condition of the creation subject, connecting the " Scene" with the status, fortune and circumstances of the creation subject. It is a remarkable fact that Xu Juzheng stressed the congenital Qi, but he although proposed that it is necessary to widen the horizon. Chinese theory of "ShenQi" purse to make the body and spirit in harmony. Li Zuiguang take "Shen" as the main part of the article, and put forward the concepts of " QiGu " and "QiGe". He appreciated highly the works should be armed vigorous power. To be make this happen, the writers need to maintain themselves better. LiYi adopted "FengShen" in the literary criticism, which come from Chinese "WenQi" theory. The main aspect of Korean " WenQi" is the theory of "ZhuQi" and "Scene", among it, connotation of "WenQi" is that we can judge the person’s destiy of the former works, and the connotation of Scene" is that the style of works has something to do with the writer’s position at present.
