This study aims to explore the rule that migrant children’s social identity, social adaptation and mental health change over time by using questionnaires to conduct a one-year investigation into 139 migrant children in Pudong New Area.The results show the following:(1)There is no significant difference between boys and girls of migrant children’s social identity, social adaptation and mental health;(2)In pre-test and mid-testmeasured, the social identity of migrant children showed the significant difference in self-identification: Specifically, those who regard themselves as an urbanian obtained the highest scores of the social identity.However,Be already an urbanian is the highest;but there is no significant difference in social adaptation and mental health;(3)Over time, the migrant children’s social identity, social adaptation and mental health is lower and lower;(4)Social adaptation and mental health has significant correlation, and both can be predicted; The structure of social identity,the similar behavior and social adaptation has significant correlation, but neither can be predicted; The structure of social identity,the similar behavior and mental health has significant correlation, but neither can be predicted.(5)Social adaptation partially mediated relations between mental health were found in posttest, but not in mid-testmeasured.
