This paper takes The new Chinese proficiency test level six reading test as the research object, and compared it with the old Chinese proficiency test high level reading test. The purpose is respectively help Chinese teachers and Chinese learners to understand the characteristics of new Chinese proficiency test reading test, To directly improve their teaching and learning strategies. Through the research, this paper has found that new Chinesse proficiency test has a big change in question type, content of the paragraph and the perspective of question: In question type, the test add a new question to examine the discourses. In content of the paragraph, the subject of the paragraph concern with the Chinese culture, geograph, science ect, In perspective of question, the test pay more attention to examinee’s logic inference and generalization ability. In total, new Chinese proficiency test focus on the learner ‘s ability of using Chinese, and correspond with the trend of language test.This paper is devided into five parts, the first part mainly introduce the background,significance,research situation and research methord of this paper.The second part introduce the new Chinese proficiency test briefly.after that, comparing the new HSK test and old test from four aspects, which include the priciple of the test,the level design of the test,validity of the test,auxiliary setting of the test.The third part analyze the reading part of the new Chinese proficiency level six and the old HSK high level from the aspect of question type,content and the perspective of the question, after that, we make a statistics about the data and conclude the differences between the new and old Chinese proficiency test.The fourth part make a statement about the significance of the changes of new Chinese proficiency test according to the differences between the new and old Chinese proficiency test.The fifth part will offer some actually suggestions and strategies for the chinese teacher and chinese learner.
