Comparative Analysis Of The Reading Test Of New Chinese Proficiency Test Level 6 And IELTS

Western countries have rich research results on second language teaching and testing.Most of the modern mainstream language teaching and testing theories come from Europe and America.With rich theoretical experience,we have designed international second language tests for learners from different countries,such as IELTS and TOEFLNew HSK and ielts although service for different languages,but they are based on European languages from the common frame of reference,and have the same social linguistics theory as the foundation,the test content in listening,speaking,reading and writing the four language skills as a starting point,comprehensively inspects examinee second language skills and communication skills.These similarities also provide the basis for a comparison.The reading part,usually the part with the largest proportion of length and the longest duration in the language test,not only examines students’ language level,but also tends to examine students’ comprehensive ability,including students’ language,thinking,logical generalization and other abilities.Reading ability is often the key to success in an exam.Ielts candidates are mostly have higher language level of the second language learners,the difficulty and the new certificate of band HSK6 roughly the same,in order to more targeted and fairness of topics,so this article selects the new HSK level 6 to ielts as the research object,with the object of reading topic to compare,first of all,based on the relevant theory of language testing analysis of two kinds of language test reading part of the topic design.Then,the differences between the two in the reading part are compared from three aspects: the scoring standard,the way of setting questions,and the scope of subjects,and the causes of the differences in reading are discussed according to the development and design concepts,thinking patterns,and the historical background of language culture of the two types of language tests.This paper discusses the current limitations of the new HSK reading test and puts forward practical Suggestions for the reform of the new HSK6 reading test by taking the ielts test as a reference experience.
