There are few works about diet in Qin and Han Chinese literature, although " the hungry people were singing for their food, the labor were singing for their work " tradition has existed for long time, referred to Mr. Mo Li feng’s paper "poetic themes to enhance the diet:from Tao Yuanming to Su Shi". The absence of diet in literature dose not mean that "food", as an important part of life completely disappeared in the whole literature of the Han. On the contrary, only a few words related to diet can turn into an important part of Poetry of Han Dynasty, and map out social morals and human feelings of Han Dynasty. This thesis focuses on two subjects. The first subject is Han Dynasty diet recorded in literature. I divided related research materials into four parts:staple food, vegetables, fruits and meat, and then study the four parts deeply. We can see that the level of social agriculture, hunting and cooking techniques of the Han Dynasty. The second subject is social morality, urban livelihood and ritual-musical culture reflected in literature of Han Dynasty. Social situation can be reflected in the diet literature. This part has three sections:daily scene, banquet scene and fairy date scene. I explored the meanings of different descriptions of the same scene, and the life, thoughts, feelings and spirits of different social classes.
