The chosen excerpts are two academic papers collected in Chapter Four China’s PC Internet& Mobile Internet Development Report of the blue book of China’s media The Report on Development of China’s Media Industry(2015) which can be of great significance to the development of mobile media market. The first paper, Expanding and Upgrading of China’s Mobile Media, mainly discusses the expanding and upgrading of mobile media in China. And the second paper, The Breakout and Development of Mobile Social Media mainly laid emphasis on the analysis of the breakout and development of mobile social media.Generally speaking, the author learns more about terms and professional theories as well as the latest development in media industry by translating the source text. And practicing the translation of academic paper in Journalism and Communication can be a great promotion for the interdisciplinary ability of the author. Especially, the topics of the samples are closed to daily life,which can be accessible accepted by the general public, and the expressions and sentences are available to be read and understood.The whole report is divided into the following parts. In the beginning, the report introduces the background of the whole blue book and the excerpts. Then the translation process including quality control is described. And the third part is to describe the difficulties encountered in the process, which can be divided from the levels of terms, sentences and text. As for the level of terms, the case analysis are chosen from the aspects of words with suffix, terms in current Chinese politics and commerce, as well as terms in the subject of Journalism and Communication. As for the level of sentences, the author discusses the difficulties in translating complex sentences and provides corresponding strategies to deal with, including ellipsis,transformation the sentence focus and combination. And as for the text, the author adopts the strategy of partial equivalence. Finally, the last part is conclusion, in which the translation experience and problems are mentioned, such as the translator has to learn to use tools and refer to professional reference books of Journalism and Communication in the process of preparation,and then obtain some skills in academic translation. Additionally, some limitations and problems are also be found during the translation process, for example, lack of interdisciplinary knowledge and unavoidable losses and partial equivalence in translation, which require further studies.
