With the diversification in China‘s Internet growth,China is building increasingly closer relations with other countries in Internet development.Accordingly,the English translation of reports on China‘s Internet growth is playing a significant role in informing other countries of such growth.Within such a setting,the present translator carries out the task of translating an excerpt titled ?How to Promote the Development of Sharing Economy on Mobile Internet? from the book Annual Report on China's Mobile Internet Development(2016).This excerpt introduces the situation of sharing economy on the mobile Internet in China with regard to resource allocation and benefit mechanism.As there are yet no English versions available,the present translator‘s translation is original and necessary.In spite of its difficulty,the translator completes the task via the use of Systemic Translation,including firstly a systemic procedure and secondly the systemic use of methods in the treatment of words and sentences.In terms of the translation procedure,the present translator undergoes four stages according to the Systemic Translation Approach: pre-translation work,source text analysis,target text production,and post-translation work.In the pre-translation stage,the translator prepares some essential reference materials such as professional dictionaries,reference books,and other online or offline resources such as encyclopedias and professional websites,and selects such parallel texts as ?Statistical Report on Internet Development in China?.In the source text analysis and target text production stages,the translator systemically analyzes the source text in four steps,i.e.,overall consideration,contextual analysis,textual analysis,and overall comprehension,and produces the target text in four similar steps,i.e.,overall consideration,contextual planning,textual designing,and overall production.In the post-translation stage,the translator finishes off the task by revising and proofreading the whole target text herself and with others to ensure that it will be functionally adequate.In terms of the translation methods,the translator systemically employs complementary techniques in the treatment of special words and complex sentences according to the Systemic Translation Approach.In the translation of special terms,the translator lays emphasis on the accuracy of terminologies and complementarily utilizes such techniques as word-for-word translation,addition and conversion.For the translation of complicated sentences,the translator adopts such techniques as conversion of active and passive voices and division of long sentences.The translator strives to achieve optimization in function design,content organization,and language expression in order to ensure the quality of the target text.The completion of this translation task is practically significant.In terms of its function,it may help to spread information about the status of China‘s Internet development to other countries.In terms of its implication to translation practice,it may assist later translation of technological texts with its application of the Systemic Translation Approach.
