Suffering Writing In Yan’s Local Novel

Yan Lianke was born in a small village in Luoyang city, Henan province, in his thirty years of writing life, local suffering became his main writing object. A strong and extreme feeling of local suffering is filled with his novel. Peanants are bearing all kinds of sufferings: fierce struggle, fruitless labour and full of strong tragedy. The writer expresses his comopassion and understanding to local peanants, his complimenting of their spirit of struggling and comprehending of their human nature, causing people explore the original meaning of life and think suffering writing on the significance of the new century.This paper aimed at the local suffering decscription of Yan’s novel, rooted in local novels, combined the writer’s own life experience and creation mentality, with the writer’s prose, interview as avidence, arranges Yan’s local suffering novel by using psychology, philosophy and religions thought. Through analysis for the suffering writing, this paper stimulate people to pursue the meaning of life, enhance the aesthetic significance of the suffering writing.This paper can be divided into three parts: introduction, text and conclusion.The introduction mainly explains Yan’s care to sufferings in his local novels and the reasons for selection of the topic and research status.The text can be divided into four chapters: Chapter one is the formation of suffering writing, explains what is suffering and the writers attitude to suffering writing from a religious point, then points out the writing motivation of suffering in Yan’s local novel: mainly because of the conscious pursuit of the writer’s own life and experience as well as the writer of "labor" writing. Chapter two is the key of the whole text. Combined Maslow need hierarchy theory and analysis of elegy of Yan’s bearing suffering and stuggling suffering, the first section decribes the world of bearing suffering. How peasants bearing the suffering world under the attack of natual and man-made disasters, the torment of sick life and the control of rural power. The second section expresses that the local peasants experience tragic struggle that can move the feat: tragic struggle against the sickness, forbear struggle against the rural power.
