It is well known that Chinese calligraphic art is related to one’s personality formation and the development of physical and mental health, and related to the establishment of the healthy outlook on life and world outlook.This study uses the analysis of the ancient and modern texts on Chinese calligraphy and discusses the relationship between Chinese calligraphy and the physical and mental health. In this study, the traditional ShunLun and biography texts are given a semiotic analysis, and is studied the calligraphy influence on all-round individual physical and mental health. Prominent feature of this study is to use the cultural psychological semiotic analysis to study the relationship between Chinese calligraphy and the physical and mental health, including their connections with related conditions and their psychological processes and other themes related in Chinese calligraphy practice.Finally the author gives some advice about guiding principles on usage of Chinese calligraphy for healthy mental state and possible psychological help. Hopping that this will help psychological counselling practice, for improving mental and body health by praticing Chinese calligraphy.
