The international competitiveness of China’s equipment manufacturing industry has been increasing with its rapid development in recent years. However, the present translation levels concerning business contracts are quite different, even with some wrong translations, omissions, etc.. Under circumstances, the author undertakes the translation task in order to create a contract template with reasonable translation and appropriate content which is necessary for a company. Meanwhile, the author also hopes that some translation principles, standard techniques can be summed up through this translation to provide some practical experience for business contract translation.Nida’s functional equivalent theory goes through the thesis as the theoretical guidance, which includes the equivalence of the lexicon, syntax, text, style, etc..The equivalence determines whether the translators’ methods and strategies can meet the functional needs. With the analysis of words, phrases and sentences in the purchase and sales contracts from RG PETRO-MACHINERY (GROUP) CO. LTD. The writer lists some problems and the related solutions, and analyzes the application of some translation strategies, including abbreviation, terminology, literal translation, combination of literal translation and explanation, etc.. The writer tries her best to overcome the obstacles brought by cultural difference sand choose the appropriate translation skills and strategies, so as to create a better template for the business contract of RG PETRO-MACHINERY (GROUP) CO.
