| Taking regional names in Wuchuan and Lingao as the research object, this dissertation uses cultural theory on regional names by geography, linguistics, history and ethnology to guide fieldwork. On the basis of fieldwork and literature historical records, the full text is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the origin, theoretical significance and practical significance of the research topic, literature review and research methods. The second and third chapter study regional names between wuchuan and lingao in two ways of linguistic structure(language composition, phonetic features, naming, the study of general names and the proper names)and cultural connotation(general and unique cultural connotation) to know that both Wuchuan and Lingao contain the respective characteristics of regional names. After the analysis of regional names, the fourth chapters find that there are both the ancient Yue language names in the two places. And in two ways of linguistic structure and cultural connotation, it tells that both regional names of the language underlying is the ancient Yue language, which are with the words of mei, na(duo/he/luo/tian),bo,diao and tan. Even other areas in western Guangdong and Hainan also such names.It can be seen that Lingao people migrate to Hainan lingao from Western Guangdong. At the same time, the regional names both reflect the ancient Yue people regards animals as objects of worship of Totem culture, and reflect the abundance of local products, the distribution of local clan surname and multi-ethnic coexistence of local history and the status quo. In addition, it can be learned that Wuchuan and Lingao indigenous ancestors actually belongs to the descendants of the ancient Yue from the two aspects of national development and historical records, which can be calculated for the same family of Li people. The fifth chapte rmakes conclusion, they both contain the respective characteristics from the current study situation of regional names, linguistics, archaeological discovery, folk belief, etc. But it can be sure they are the same path of development and both belong to Baiyue people, whose ethnic root and cultural connotation are in the mainland. |
