The Linguistic And Cultural Analysis Of The Body Words In Hunan Shimen Dialect

Shimen County belongs to Changde city of Hunan Province, Shimen dialect belongs to the Changhe part of Southwest Mandarin dialect. There are a number of research about Shimen dialect, phonetics,vocabulary, grammar are involved. But there is lack of the research of the combination of language and culture from the perspective of a class of words analysis of culture. In this paper, we select the body words of Shimen dialect and analyse them from the language and culture aspects on the basis of the investigation of language.This article consists of eight parts:The first part, introduction. First, introduce Shimen County, the basic situation of Shimen dialect phonology and the defining of the dialect words. Next, explain the origin, purpose, significance, research history and current situation,research method, the style of the topic and the sources of this paper.In the second part,the body word system of Shimen dialect is introduced. First, explain the definition and characteristics of body words, then show the body words system of Shimen dialect.The third part is the analysis of the phonetic form from the number of syllables and syllable structure of the body words in Shimen dialect.The fourth part is the analysis of the word-building of the body words of the Shimen dialect which is mainly from the overlapping and the affixation.The fifth part analyzes the meaning of body words in Shimen dialect. It is analyzed from the four aspects of word motivation, the way of meaning formation and development, semantic fields and the meaning features.The sixth part,combined with the characteristics of language, analyzes the culture connotation of Shimen dialect.The seventh part is a summary of the basic content of the full text, and points out the shortcomings of the article and the proposals to improve.Through the analysis, the article draws a conclusion that some of the characteristics of body words of Shimen dialect, for example, there are a lot of polysyllabic words, overlapping and affixation is two kinds of word-building, the motivation of the meaning is explicit, the characteristics of metaphor and metonymy have been showed in the process of the meaning formation and development, and the difference of the meaning range between Shimen dialect body words and Mandarin’s. And then we analyze the different cultural connotations base on the these characteristics of Shimen dialect body words.
