Research On Chinese Language Teaching Of Humanities College Of Siam University

In recent years, with the development of Chinese language education in Thailand, such researches on it keep increasing. Different areas of Chinese language education in different areas of Thailand are common to some extent, while there’re still their own features.In this article, we do investigation to the Humanities College of Siam University of Thailand through questionnaire investigation, observation and interview method, to find the problems on Chinese language education of the Siam University, and put forward the suggestions.In the survey, we found that the Humanities College of Siam University offer Chinese as a selective course, Chinese students and non-Chinese students are common in some degrees, such as efforts, learning motivation and learning method. While Chinese students pay more attention to the social expectations of Chinese value, motivation of integration and the cultural connotation of Chinese; Chinese teachers have strong sense of identity and responsibility; local teaching material are used widely. At the same time, there still exists some problems, such as the teacher shortage, weak teaching methods, learning evaluation system lacking of objectivity and stability, and among them, the weak each methods and lack of extracurricular activity are prominent.Aiming at the problems of Siam University on Chinese language education, we put forward several suggestions from the aspects of curriculum, teachers, teaching material system and assessment system. We could improve curriculum, build a team of local teachers and pay more attention to their training long-term learning, write and use teaching material system mixed the culture of China and Thailand, and establish diversified teaching evaluation system.
