As China’s economic strength and international status has improved, more and moreforeign students choose to study in China. Recently foreign students come to China for studypresents two trends, one is that the number is constantly growing; the other is that thelearning level, structure and the form has changed a lot. In all types of Chinese teaching,undergraduate major of Chinese Language for International Education is the earliest and thelargest scaled major in China. It is the main part of academic education and plays animportant role in the process of internationalization of Chinese education.Many year’s practice shows that the quality of training senior specialized talents largelydepends on the school curriculum and teaching. As the core of the teaching plan, coursesetting is the main way to achieve teaching goals and decomposition the teaching content. Thehistory of Chinese teaching major for foreign student is not very long and it has developed tolarge-scale just in recent decade, so the study about the course setting of this major is notquite mature. This paper aims to study the course of undergraduate Chinese teaching majorfor foreign students and gives some suggestions for international education ofChinese curriculum construction in china. It is based on the curriculum theory of higheducation, and the research method used includes literature analysis, questionnaire andinterview.The paper includes five chapters. The first chapter is the general introduction of thepaper, in this part we mainly introduce the purpose, the meaning, the background as well asthe research method of the study. The second chapter shows the result of the questionnaire inorder to better understand the status and problems existed in studying the course of Chineseteaching among foreign students. The third part explores the characteristics and trend settingUniversity Chinese international education curriculum, and summarizes the successfulexperience by comparing eight colleges and universities in the training aims, the coursesystem and content of the course which describes the current curriculum arrangement,curriculum categories and longitudinal, transverse structure characteristics. The fourth chapterputs forward some corresponding suggestions and measures based on the problems andsuccessful experience. The last chapter is the conclusion. It concludes the result of the study and summarizes the innovation and shortcomings of the paper.
