In 2006, "Achang Husa Sword-making techniques" became China’s first batch of national intangible cultural heritage and our country attaches great importance to it, with government funds and policy support and protection. This paper compares before and after the 2006, the sword-making techniques, sword industry and its social status differences of the Husa bladesmith, aiming at stating that state-level intangible cultural heritage "Achang Husa Sword-making techniques" has a positive impact on Achang village:it makes the local culture, economy and society more prosperous, it improves the cultural consciousness and national identity of Husa villagers.Introduction part explains dissertation reasons and reviews literatures including the development of the Achang, the value of Achang Husa Sword-making techniques, the value of intangible cultural heritage. This paper briefly introduces the main field site of Xinzhai, Lasa Village, Husa Countryside in Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan.First chapter combs Husa Sword, Husa Sword-making techniques and the origin and development of Husa Sword industry and analyzes the status of Husa Sword in Achang society culture. This chapter is the basis to understand this intangible cultural heritage.Chapter ii presents the process to apply for "Achang Husa Sword-making techniques" and the change of Husa sword production equipment and Husa Sword-making techniques after the success of entitled. Properties, Achang Husa Sword-making techniques is more developed, production equipment, production efficiency is higher, which makes Husa bladesmith feel pride. Blind half mechanization production also shows the culture consciousness of the Husa bladesmith needs to be strengthened. Production equipment and production craft, on the other hand, the heritage development closely related to the country’s infrastructure, policies, Husa bladesmith thanks to the country and develops cultural confidence for its traditional craftsmanship culture.The third chapter disputes elaborated the Husa Sword industry development and presents situation from three aspects of the traditional family workshops, self-marketing model, modern assembly line and sales network model, Husa Sword brand set and intellectual property rights, which including some problems such as the half mechanization of traditional process and Husa Sword counterfeits from other provinces and some other issues. On the whole, all these reflects the booming development of the Husa Sword industry, the government and media publicity around the Husa Sword became popular collectibles, and the Husa bladesmith builds cultural confidence due to the economic benefit.The fourth chapter elaborates the properties of intangible cultural heritage’s social impact from three aspects of Husa countryside villagers change social relations, the expansion of the villagers’ social intercourse space, the villagers with myanmar residents of social relations change. Husa bladesmith, especially inheritors, have a higher social status. Husa Sword has higher visibility in the whole country. The government, media and tourists frequently contact with Husa villagers, which promotes the Husa villagers’ understandings of the country. Husa villagers who are living in the atmosphere of being recognized by the country build cultural confidence.Epilogue expresses the author’s worry about this study such as half mechanization production of the traditional craft, individual register of intangible trademark as well as rises some advices.
