| "Heterogeneous distance" is an important principle of British American new criticism of metaphor analogy. In order to give the reader the art of novel feeling, It’s stressed tenor and vehicle body should have different properties and distance features. Avant-garde fiction refer to the type of novels that appeared in the 1980’s which lay importance on language experiment, including a number of writers of the novel creative practices, such as Can Xue, Ma Yuan, Su Tong, Yu Hua, Mo Yan, and so on. In this thesis, from the research perspective, on the basis of the theory of "heterogeneous distance", will achieve the purpose of two-way interpretation between China and West. The whole analysis is in the framework with the mutual interpretation of Chinese and Western as the research ideas, the characteristic and aesthetic effect of the novel and strange metaphor of pioneer novel,The introduction part includes two aspects:First, the origin and significance of the theme. By analogy and thinking of relationship between the characteristics of metaphor finding, the theme comes from the metaphor of the new criticism and the principle of vanguard novels The significance of the study lies in the metaphor analysis of the new criticism and the characteristics of the metaphor of the pioneer novels. One of the aims is to deepen the understanding of Chinese native literatures and western modern literary theory. The second part is a research survey. Based on the existing achievements, it summarizes the problems and shortcomings, and makes the core ideas more clearly.The first chapter introduces the basic present situation of the theory of "heterogeneous distance" in the British American new criticism. There are three parts. The first part describes the brewing process. The two concepts which "include tension" and "metaphor" are of great significance to the "heterogeneous distance". "Tension" is the core of the "metaphor" of heterogeneous distance, while metaphor is the basis of the metaphor. The second part illustrates the characteristics of its construction. As far as the author is concerned, the metaphor of "heterogeneous distance" is to maintain the relationship between the ontology and vehicle. Readers are required to fully mobilize their own imagination, and understand the subtle relationship between the bodies to make a proper interpretation of the body. The third part summarizes its basic connotation. Due to belong to different domains of experience and properties of phase difference, the distance between the ontology and vehicle is far because of being creative touch together. The characteristics of these two aspects constitute the basic connotation of the theory of "heterogeneous distance".In the second chapter, it describes the performance characteristics of the different distance metaphor of the vanguard novel. The first section analyzes the difference in the metaphor of the pioneer novel. The heterogeneity of the pioneer novels has three kinds of expression, namely, the difference between man and object, the difference between object and object, and abstract and concrete. In the second section, it discusses the distance of the pioneer novel. The "far distance" of the metaphor of pioneer novels is mainly manifested in the two aspects of "far from the senses" and "far from the logic".In the third chapter, it illustrates the aesthetic effect of the metaphor of the "different distance". The second section analyzes the metaphor of imagination. The vanguard novel metaphor is the creation of writers who have great originality and stimulate the reader’s imagination to the greatest extent.The third section analyzes the tension of metaphor. In the construction of the relationship between the ontology and vehicle, the pioneer novels create a very tension in the interpretation of context which provides the imagination of the reader’s recreation.It concludes with the heading of "Chinalization of the western literary". In the western literary theory in the process of Chinalization, China native literature should become an important platform for combining the Chinese and western literary theory. The thesis illustrates the theory of "heterogeneous distance" between the British and American new criticism and the metaphor of Chinese vanguard novels from round ways, and it will achieve the total aims. |
