Square dancing as a kind of popular fitness movement with its deep mass base and rich flavor of life has fast becoming the mainstream way of fitness and with fitness, entertainment, leisure characteristics,and becoming an important part of culture. But square dance also caused a lot of "social contradictions" problem:such as " Noise contradiction ", " Public space contradiction " at the same time.This article based on the relevant theory of sociology, With the square dance development as the research object, and using the methods of literature review, questionnaire survey, field investigation, interview, case study, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, Then following a case study of Hong Shan urban residents in Wuhan city, Hubei province. Then comprehensive analysis from the square dance participants basic situation, participants involved in behavior, the square dance organization and management, the conflict problem and the restricting factors, etc, on the current situation of its development. Next from the angle of sociology combined with the survey data, interview and case analysis. using the theory of "social ecology", "social conflict theory" to analysis the value of the square dance development, the emergence and development of the square dance and square dance conflict and influence. At last, from the actual, in view of the problems existing in the development of square dance to give some suggestions.The research conclusion:1、Square dance participants mainly middle-aged and old women; Participation motivation each are not identical, but it is main purpose to promote health. Participants following level of education focused on the junior high school and higher vocational; Participants to choose the dance of extremely rich to mass setting-up exercise dance the most; Square dance performance or game mostly concentrated in the summer; Hongshan district feature dance with "fitness line dance" and "one thousand-mulan fan".There are differences in different areas of the participants to exercise time, "South lake district" participant exercising time is the longest time.2、Participants mainly on the community ground to exercise; Some sites near the residential area, morning and evening exercise affect residents who have a rest; Fitness field especially lack of Tian xingxiang area; Hongshan district government support school field opening to the outside, but the school grounds open rate is low; Relevant departments push to take off each other to deal with problems in the square dance;Some residents inclusive enough when dealing with square dance contradiction.3、The main influencing factors of square dance rise development:The harmonious development of man’s own is the premise and basis for the development of a square dance; The concept of coordinated development of man and nature is the endogenous driving force of the development of the square dance; Interpersonal communication demand is the square dance development boosters of the square dance; People and the common progress of the society is the important guarantee of square dance development.4、The main reason for the conflict of square dance:Conflicts include participants fitness entertainment power and the participants to rest quiet power; Public space struggle in the conflict among different groups; Different age, sex, living habits and communication that caused emotional conflicts;not perfect system and organization management caused Institutional conflict5、"Square dance" is a way of fitness activities and a phenomenon of social development, the characteristics of the collective activity and the elderly life background closely relevant to brand of The Times, so inspired elderly enthusiasm for a square dance with love.
