The early 21st century will be the period when China’s population aging develops the fastest.Along with the aging of society comes the physical and mental health problems of the elderly--the sense of loneliness when the elderly withdraw from the original social activities, and the basic psychological needs can not be met.At the same time, research has found that square dancing has become the main way of social activities for the elderly, which has a positive impact on the psychological needs and subjective well-being of the elderly.By combing the relevant domestic and foreign literature on square dancing and subjective well-being of the elderly,it is found that the existing studies rarely carry out empirical discussion on the relationship between square dancing activities and subjective well-being of the elderly, and rarely consider the mechanism and boundary conditions of the relationship between them. Therefore, based on the review of previous studies on square dancing, sports friendship quality, basic psychological needs satisfaction, subjective well-being and so on,combined with self-determination theory and social emotional choice theory, the research hypotheses were put forward:(1)the frequency of square dancing participation in the elderly positively affects subjective well-being;(2)The frequency of square dance participation positively affects the satisfaction of the elderly’s autonomy, competence and belongingness needs,(3)Satisfaction of autonomy, competence and belonging needs play a mediating role between the frequency of square dance participation and subjective well-being;(4)Perceived sports friendship quality positively moderates the relationship between square dance participation frequency and satisfaction of autonomy, competence, and belongingness needs. This paper uses a large sample questionnaire survey to test the above hypothesis.A total of 233 valid questionnaires were collected.SPSS22.0 and AMOS21.0 were used as statistical tools.Descriptive statistics, reliability and validity test, correlation analysis, regression analysis and other methods were used. The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)The frequency of square dance participation in the elderly positively affects subjective well-being;(2)Square dance participation frequency positively affects the satisfaction of autonomy, competence and belonging needs;(3)Satisfaction of autonomy, competence and belongingness partially mediated the relationship between square dance participation frequency and subjective well-being;(4)The quality of sports friendship positively moderates the relationship between square dance participation frequency, competency and belongingness needs. |
