With the continuous reform and opening up, large quantities of foreign literature of children have been introduced into China. The quality and variety of children’s literature works attracts the immense focus by many scholars. Under the background of re-translation of the classic children literature, the author translates a detective novel Bet Your Life and chooses the first three chapters as the main topic of this E-C translation report. This novel is written by British writer Jane Casey, who is a famous author of a series of detective novels. In order to meet the characteristic of Chinese children’s language, the author proposes to introduce translating methods in the lexical, syntactical and contextual level in the support of domestication strategy proposed by Lawrence Venuti. Further more, there are some other translation skills adopted in the translation, such as reduplicated words, euphemism, amplification and reorganization, which aim at getting an optimal outcome. By analyzing the characteristic of the literature of children and specific cases, the author comes to the conclusion:the translator should fully put the children in to consideration in the process of translating the literature of children, and apply different means of expression to meet the special demanding of their language competence. By reading the simple, concrete and beautiful language, the Chinese little readers can enjoy and understand the meaning, idea and aesthetic value of the author of the original work.
