With the development of modern society, more and more new words have emerged, not only enrich our language, but also as a mirror of a society, reflecting the changing of society. This paper selects Chinese and Japanese representative neologisms from 2005 to 2014 as the study object and devids the words into political, economic and social life according the meaning. Analyze the changes in the various fields through all kinds of words baced on linguistic sociology and then explore the mutual influence between China and Japan.In particular, first of all, this paper outlines the research status of neologism, explains research direction and shortcoming until now. Then, give a new definition of the neologism and explored therelationship of the neologism and popular words, neologism and society.Secondly, this paper finds out the neologism in each field of the two countries and makes a specific analysis.Through the Chinese neologisms, this thesis mainly discusses Chinese political opinions and foreign policy, changes of the domestic policies, corruption problem, economic development characteristics and changes, social development and issues. Through the study, it is found that this decade, China has established a new win-win foreign policy, and the international influence is also constantly upgrading, based on the adherence to the "one China" political proposition. Chinese government has signaled a transition from rural issue to urban problems and anti-corruption work has intensified. Chinese economic development in the past ten years has gradually developed from high speed to steady development. Besides, China has got much achievement at network communication, etc. But at the same time, there is lots of problems in China have been deepened, like foods safety problems, environmental problems and national quality problems.In contrast, through the Japanese neologism, this thesis mainly talks about the changes of Japanese political politics, political cash problems, Japanese economic phenomenon in this decade, employment issues, social security issues, environmental protection and the chandes of Japanese social characteristics. In politics, the frequent replacement of the Prime Minister of Japan, "political donations" problems to be solved urgently. Affected by the international depression, Japan’s economy has declined for along time, unemployment is rised, informal employment spread. Various security issues, environmental protection and other issues are concerned by people, Furthermore, as Japanese problem of old age is becoming more and more serious, the Japanese society is changing from "kakusa" to "muenn".In addition, this paper also chooses neologisms which are associated with the other country from both China and Japan countries in 2005 to 2014. Baced on the background of the new words and according to the social consensus survey reference, this paper explores influence to the other coutry or the relations between the two countries by the events reflected by new words. The results show that China and Japan have influenced each other in many ways. However, due to historical issues, the relations between the two countries have been tepid and the mutual understanding between the two countries should be further deepened.
