A Research Of June Sixth Temple Fair In Mafang Village, Xunyi County,Shaanxi

Temple fair is a rally based on the temples for sacrificing, dealing and entertaining, which contains rich folk culture as the important carrier for China’s folk customs. Xunyi locates in the west of Shaanxi province,which is attached to the Guanzhong Plain, whose subordinate villages still retain the ancient temple fair culture. Combined with relevant information, this article is a case study that made on June Sixth Temple Fair in Mafang Village, Xunyi County on the basis of substantial fieldwork.The text can be divided into seven parts:First, introduction. This part mainly introduces the reasons for studying this topic and it’s academical significance, and at the same time, reviews the previous research; then makes a description of research methods of this topic and relevant issues.Second, make a introduction of the space that June Sixth Temple Fair based on---Mafang village. This part mainly includes the physic-geographical environment and daily life of the villagers in Mafang village. The June Sixth Temple Fair derived from this space background and gradually became the folk culture feast that has greater influence on the local people.Third, make a comparison of the legend of General Yangsi in north and south, review the context and route that circulated in the legend, probe into the localization of General Yangsi’s legend and faith in Mafang village, retrace the origin of June Sixth Temple Fair.Fourth,make a description of the current situation of June Sixth Temple Fair, organization and management of the temple fair, and participant of the fair.Fifth, the manifestation and feature of the June Sixth Temple Fair. First of all, make a introduction of local convention that reflect in June Sixth Temple Fair, and it’s connection with the life of local people; then, introduce other activities in the June Sixth Temple Fair, such as Shaanxi opera show, commodity dealing, divination and so on.Sixth, probe into the connection of legend, temple fair and the village life.
