| Dunhuang frescoes are one of the great achievements of the Dunhuang Caves artistic heritage. A relatively independent research system has been establish to study the decorative patterns of Dunhuang frescoes, of which the research results have been widely applied to various realms of art, and the decorative language extracted from these researches have given a lot of creative inspiration for designers. Based on the theories of previous studies, research methods like big data-based literature review, field visits and design practices were adopted to explore the decorative patterns of Dunhuang frescoes and the feasibility of applying these patterns into modern decorative paintings, aiming to endow the design and creation of modern decorative paintings with some traditional cultural connotation and significance through the advanced production technology under the industrial mass production conditions.First of all, based on the background of Dunhuang frescoes, some classic frescoes were selected as the research object, of which the type and artistic style were generally introduced to explore the aesthetics of these decorative patterns. Secondly, analysis was made on decorative paintings, and the background, value and feasibility of applying the decorative patterns of Dunhuang frescoes in modern decorative paintings was analyzed, based on which it was pointed out that such patterns could be adopted in various interior design and decoration styles, such as Chinese style, new Chinese style, Japanese style and modern minimalist style. Thirdly, through the feasibility analysis of technological dimension, analysis was made on the modernization of modern decoration paintings under the mass production conditions. Finally, combined with the creative practices on adopting the mass production technology to apply the decorative patterns of Dunhuang frescoes in modern decorative paintings, decorative painting works specific to different indoor styles were designed, which could be launched on the market to provide a broader development space for the modern decorative painting design. |
