Study On Character Education From The Perspective Of Virtue Ethics

Character education based on the virtue ethics is the basic conception, viewpoints and notion of virtue ethics.When it comes to character education, problem exits in ignorance of educational receivers, the defect of its content and the formalization of education progress. In accordance of the inner conception of virtue, happiness and practical wisdom as well as the opinions on habit-developing and the virtue supported by community, we can find the close relationship between virtue ethics and character educatuon.Character education based on the virtue ethics focuses on developing the moral subject which is specialized in subjectivity aimed at getting the educational receivers to develop in all-round way so that they can be a qualified citizens.Only in this way can the right value of happiness be formed in single and can they seek their happiness. To achieve these goals, we can construct a virtue subject that appeals to the historical background from the perspective of class attribute, group attribute, and single attribute in human beings together with the teaching in single about happiness; In the view of approaches, we need set up one that is close to life and set about designing the way of character education from the view of its developing in habit. Beside that, a good environment of character education will also be created.However, It is not easy to put what we talked about above into practice. This thesis studies the practical approaches and ways of character education based on the virtue ethics from the aspects of subject cultivation and external environmental construction. Subject cultivation mainly covers the cultivation in daily notion of happiness, wisdom of practice, and also the cultivation in habit of character.The external environmental construction mainly includes the construction of the community in it, the country’s domination and its drive, and the cooperation among those who participate the character education. What can’t be deny is that the virtue ethics exists some shortcomings,especially its study in psychology. Therefore, It is essential that a better-developed virtue psychology should be set up to better guide the practice of character education.
