The Visual Expression And Communication Forms Of Human Physiology

As the basic subject for the development of medical theory, physiology is able to help people to know more about the structure and function of their body, and find the problem in time at the early stage of the disease, then the right judgment and effective response can be made as well. Taking the purpose and the target into consideration, the study selected seven common signals of human body(nose, phlegm, spit, sneezing, burp and fart). As the breakthrough point of the research, these physical signals come from the respiratory system and digestive system which can be perceived most directly by people, in addition, they have the possibility of identifiable and observation.By analyzing the present situation of the visual expressions and communication forms of human physiology, some problems are found——these expressions and forms can not be applied to those who are not majored in medicine and biology as a popular science print.To change the traditional visual expressions of physiology, how to present these complex content by a simple and interesting way is the most important question. At the sme time, readers’ basic understanding on the human body would be respect and cognitive biases should be avoided. This paper discusses the possibility that using information graphic design with dynamic and interactive elements as the visual form to perform human physiology knowledge. First of all, the function of information graphic design is introduced. Then through the design practices and result shows, whether information graphic design is suitable for the visual expression of human body physiology which represented by common body signals is demonstrated.
