Along with the development of Chinese economy, both patents applied in China and Chinese patents applied in foreign countries grow rapidly, causing the increasing demand for patent translation. In 2013, Beijing RWS group and Xian International Studies University make a school-enterprise cooperation project, which is about patent translation. The author has the honor to work as a patent translator in this project for a year and the translation volume reaches 290,000 words. During the internship, the author realizes that technical terminology translation is a great difficulty for translators and decides to write this report to solve these problems. The author points out three major problems according to her translation practice and analyzes reasons therefor from the perspective of Cognitive Terminology. On the basis of the present researches on technical terminology translation, the author realizes the great importance of cognition function of technical terms and proposes solutions for translation problems in WOSA terminology, namely standardization, conceptualization and categorization, hoping to provide advices for WOSA translators. In fact, further researches are needed due to the limited quantities of the selected texts, the essential differences between English and Chinese and the author’s limited capabilities.
