In the 1980 s, with the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Sino-US cultural exchanges, China has entered a road of the introduction of the Hollywood films. By two "American Film Weeks" and many Sino-US co-productions, the domestic audiences saw the American film again and Hollywood also took the opportunity to carry out a series of visit to China. The US film industry elites expected to start working to establish the cinema, then implemented movie split system. But because of the official protection of the film industry, ideological control, foreign exchange restrictions and other reasons, Hollywood wanted to attempt in China with the release of the film in the form of split has not been achieved in the 1980 s.In the 1990 s, since the project management system was severely constrained, Chinese film industry deteriorated and the performance of film market continues to get worse. In this situation, China Film Group Corporation announced the introduction of the “income-sharing films” and take the form of split system issued in the country, what Hollywood “regret” in the 1980 s was finally realized in the 1990 s.
