A Study On Wu Yi’s Confucian Classics

Wu Yi is a representational scholar at the Hanxue in Henan province at the period of qianjia.He makes great achievement in confucian classics, epigraphy, local topography, literature and historiography by diligent study and good at writing. The Qun-Jing-Yi-Zheng,San-Li-Yi-Zheng,Jing-Du-Kao-Yi and Bu-Jing-Du-Kao-Yi are his representative books in confucian classics. Trough the Qun-Jing-Yi-Zheng and San-Li-Yi-Zheng,Wu Yi tests out several hundreds meaning of the confucian classics and corrects a lot of errors that the other person make when they explain the confucian classics.In the Jing-Du-Kao-Yi and Bu-Jing-Du-Kao-Yi,he analysed and identified the punctuation of the confucian classics.For the confucian classics of wu yi, the first is to study his family life that include four aspects.First, he comes from the officials aristocratic family and is addicted to learn;Second, he loves his people in spite of his career frustractions; Third, he gives lectures and writes books; Fourth,the sons arranges and inherits his books.The aim of studying his family is to clear the reason that he has so many academic achievement and the formation process of his characteristic of the confucian classics. In addition,we arrange his books about epigraphy, local topography and literature in the part of his family life studying.Secondly,to study his representative books in confucian classics. Wu yi pays attention to study the meaning and punctuation of confucian classics. He has four representative books in confucian classics that is Qun-Jing-Yi-Zheng, San-Li-Yi-Zheng,Jing-Du-Kao-Yi, Bu-Jing-Du-Kao-Yi.In the first two books,wu yi studies the meaning and corrects the others’ errors of ten books in confucian classics.In the other books, he analysed and identified the punctuation of the confucian classics.Again, to study the characteristics of his confucian classics.His books reflect the characteristics of his confucian classics.First,he is over the confucian classics,also havea strong bias; second, he respects the Hanxue,also uses the Songxue; Third,he quotes widely,also emphasises on the classics and historiography;Fourth, he is skilled in textual research;Fifth,He expresses his opinions though the note. The characteristics of his confucian classics are not only with the characteristics of the times, but also the reflects his own preferences in the study.Finally, to study the influence and deficiency of wu yi’s confucian chassics.The achievements that wu yi obtains in confucian classics not only provides many reference materials and new research ideas for later generations to study,but also promote the development of HanXue in Henan province at the period of qianjia. He is the first to spread HanXue in Henan province. His influence in the confucian classics can not be ignored, but his research also has some shortcomings that include the error on the research direction and the lack of historical reference.
