Middle vocational education is an important part of secondary education and both enrollments are usually from graduates of junior high school. Their number of enrollment stays in the same level. Middle vocational education characterizes the teaching of professional technology and ability and shoulder the responsibility of educating and providing universities and higher vocational schools with junior and semi-senior technicians. The setting of art design major in middle vocational schools is quite common but with a short history. As a practical major, it functions as both improving aesthetic ability and providing professional knowledge and technology. Compared with the curriculum setting of universities, they are similar, but differences also exist. Their training methods are analogous, however, employment competitiveness and quality of graduates differ in some respects. Therefore, the art design major, which aims at high employment rate, should adjust its educational structure, innovate and improve training methods. It relates much to the scale and development of art design major in middle vocational education. It also requests the improvement of teaching standards and ability of knowledge production of its talent outputs. Continuous exploration and innovation of teaching methods of art design major is an important long-lasting and changeful research topic.
